Tess Yan Cheng
Intern
Tess is a 2023 summer student from the Stanford University Department of Genetics. Her research focuses on the skin microbiome and its relationship to skin diseases. Tess is developing methods to match donors and recipients for skin microbiome transplantation.

Haley Oba

Haley is a 2023 GRIPS Fellow from Stanford University School of Medicine. She is focused on the statistical analysis of the microbiome, with her current project centered on power and sample size calculation for microbiome studies.

Dorothy Zhang
Intern
Dorothy is a 2024 intern at Stanford University School of Medicine, hailing from Menlo School. Her current focus is on culturomics, where she is dedicated to isolating and studying unique bacterial strains from the human microbiome.

Andre Rayner
GRPIS Fellow
Andre is a 2023 GRIPS fellow at the Stanford University Department of Genetics. He is interested in the gut-brain axis. Andre is developing causal inference models to understand the role of the microbiome in human depression.

Patrick Demkowicz
JAX Summer Fellow
Patrick participated in the 2016 Summer Student Program at The Jackson Laboratory. His research focuses on the animal microbiome, comparing microbiomes in the context of aging and caloric restriction.
